Reasons
to learn Spanish
at García Lorca Spanish School, Madrid
|
|
|
|
|
|
Students studying with the García Lorca Spanish School
in Madrid have the opportunity not only to experience the
feeling and atmosphere of living and working abroad, but to
be members of the García Lorca Club. We have a family vision
of studying, teaching and having fun. The Club is a chance
for students, teachers, office staff, friends and family of
everyone to get together and have a great time as well as
sharing experiences and making new friends.
|
|
|
The Club has an active social calendar which includes events
such as Pub Nights, Movie Nights, Theater Nights, etc. that
are featured each month in García Lorca's monthly newsletter.
Also, the newsletter provides information on the latest cultural
opportunities in Madrid, such as Museums, Botanical Gardens,
Live Flamenco Shows, Bull Fights, and of course the fabulous
and unrivaled nightlife that the city has to offer. In addition,
García Lorca sponsors cultural visits to Toledo, Segovia, Barcelona,
Valencia, Seville, and other places of interest, which you
can do on the weekends.

The cost of living is lower in Madrid than in other major
European cities, we are able to offer the course at a very
competitive price. Savings, as compared to other European
cities, on such items as accommodation, food, drink and entertainment
over the 4 week term, are additional benefits of attending
the course at the García Lorca Spanish School in Madrid.

PRACTICING THE LANGUAGE IN EVERYDAY SITUATIONS
Some classes will be dedicated to practicing the language
in everyday situations.
Students will go with the teacher to different places to
practice Spanish with the local people. For example:
|
|
|
| |
|
- Interview practice in Spanish and presentation of projects.
- Public speaking practice.
- Going shopping to different types of shops (department stores,
supermarkets, etc).
- Going to a café / bar / restaurant and talking to the waiter:
ordering, paying, talking about the place, etc.
- Using public transport, asking prices, itineraries, timetables
and so on.
- Etc.

TRIPS AND VISITS
During the Spanish courses we do many field trips. Some show
you the culture and history of the capital and its surrounding
area, as well as the natural environment of the province of
Madrid, such as the Guadarrama mountain range with its woods,
rivers and other natural beauty spots.
Many of our students take part in some of the typical fiestas
all over Spain, such as: San Fermin (running with the bulls
in Pamplona - July 7th), San Isidro Festival in Madrid, The
August Fair in Málaga, The Tomato Festival of Buñol (The "Tomatina"),
The April Fair in Seville, The Fallas in Valencia.

During these trips, students will be encouraged to talk to
the local people and enter into situations where they have
to practice speaking in Spanish.
